Question:

: My Jack Russell Terrier Bandit, male, 2 years old has bitten me the 4th time without any prior warning. My husband got him from a family that has placed an ad in the paper. We have him for 1 year now and I have grown very fond of the dog. Besides those biting incidences he is a very affectionate dog and well trained. He listens to sit, stay, down and come.We live in the country, have a huge fenced yard and no children. The dog has plenty of room for exercise and is allowed to sleep in the bed with me. I am with the dog most of the time and he is seldom alone. My vet tells me that I should put the dog to sleep. I love this dog and before considering this I would appreciate your oppinion. He feels that a dog that bites will always bite and I could seriosly get hurt. Is that true? The last bite happened when I saw him scratching and sniffing in the corner of a room. Wondering what he was looking at I went down to the floor next to him when within a split second he turned around and bit me above my eye. I immediately grabbed him by his collar, shouted no and told him to go in his bed. He did what he was told. The other times
: where the same kind of situations. Out of the blue without warning or prior growling, he feels you are in his way he snapped suddenly and bit always in the face.
: Am I doing something wrong or do I have a problem dog?
: I am concerned about both my safety and the dog.

: Thank you,
: Lilo
