Question:

: My JR Casey has developed the habit of rolling on his treats. He usually doesn't roll on the soft treats just the hard ones or the crunchy rawhide sticks. It's not necessarily a problem, it's actually kind of funny, but I was just curious as to why dogs do this?

: Also, Casey and I are starting our first obedience classes next month. What should we expectrom the first few sessions?

: To the person whose JR likes to watch TV, mines also watches TV. Usually anything with dogs, but he really likes watching "The Crocodile Hunter". As soon as he hears the hosts voice he is instantly planted in front of the TV. That is why I just love these guys, thay have such a quirky personality.

A lot of dogs not just Jack Russells will roll on food, it puts their scent one the food or maybe he don't like the soft treats as well!
There are several books on why dogs do the things that they do, and if you are really interested then you can get some and read them, believe me you can learn alot.
Training Books

As to what to expect from the first several classes that will depend on you and how hard you work with your dog, at home, obedience can be great fun for both you and your dog but it all depends on how hard you work and do your homework.
