: I just got this JRT 1 1/2 weeks ago. His name is Jackson and he's 11 weeks old today. I am a first time, single dog owner and I'm worried I don't have what is best for him. I keep him in his cage at night from 11:30p - 7:30a. Then I leave for work at 9am and try to return to let him out at 12:30p then go back to work and return between 5:30p-6:30p. All that time He's in his cage. I have a townhouse, no fenced in back yard for him to run in, It's just me and him. My question is would it be better for him to be with a family that has a yard and someone who is around him more? I know He's being a normal puppy...I think, again I am a 1st time dog owner. I like him a great deal but I want what's best for him. Can you please help?

I can't tell you what to do but I can tell you that this is something that you should have thought about before buying this puppy. All I can say is call the breeder you bought the puppy from and take it back to her, or place it with Russell Rescue, placing or selling it yourself isn't a good idea.
