Question:

: My Boyfriend and I bought a JRT on Labor Day of 2000 from a local petshop in one of the malls. I have always been told horror stories about buying from petshops, but as soon as we both saw her (Cloe), We both just feel in LOVE!!! When we "adopted" our new addition to the family, we were told that she was AKC-- But when we just recently recieved Her papers, they said UKC. I was just wondering if UKC was a legitimate organization, and if so, if it is a good organization to belong to with a JRT.
: What, if any, are our options?
: We love our little Princess to death.. But I am still kind of angry about being lied to at the pet shop. I want our Puppy to be registered with a very well recognized organization.. and I am just wondering how recognized the UKC is. Please email me back!! Thank You!

First of all this is the JRTCA Website, that stands for The Jack Russell Terrier Club of America which is the OLDEST and Largest Registery for Jack Russells in the World. We don't allow our breeders to sell to Pet Shops, it isn't ethical. If you want to know about the UKC or the AKC Please ask at their Website.
Please take a look at what we reguire for registration, just because a dog has papers doesn't mean it will automaticly be registered, we want only the best dogs and we don't believe in litter registration. Only dogs that meet our strick standards JRTCA Breed Standard are registered at one year of age.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
