Question:

: My JRT is two years old and was housetrained. He is not nutered yet. We had a friend stay with her dog for a couple of months and her dog urintated in the house. Now my JRT is urinating everywhere even after being outside. I don't know how to fix this problem. I don't know if fixing him would help solve the problem. I went back to trying like we did when he was a puppy but that isn't working. If he is in his crate he will find a spot (usually where the other dog has gone) as soon as he gets out and of course does it when we aren't looking. Do you have any advise? My husband is wanting to get rid of him but he is a wonderful dog outside of this problem and I love him too much to see him go somewhere else.

I really don't know what to tell you, this isn't the dogs fault, it is yours for letting someone stay at your house with an untrained dog and pee inside, and not getting the spot up properly. Regular cleaner doesn't work, you have to use an emzyme cleaner to remove the odor. It is also your fault for not watch your dog and not having him neutered at and early age, this isn't a housebreaking problem but one of a male marking his territory. This is normal for any male to do.
I am sorry if you feel that this is harsh but I am tired of people wanting to give dogs up from problems that it is thier doing and of no fault of the dog. Rescue is full right now, because of people like you wanting to give thier dog up when the going get hard. This could have all be prevented my Cleaning up with an emzyme clean, neutering your dog when he was 6 month of age, and watching your dog more carefully.
The key here is to watch your dog and if you can't watch it, then crate the dog or leave it out in the fenced area untill it totally empties.
Again Sorry if this is too harsh for you, but don't blame me, blame yourself.
Regards
Linda
