Question:

: recently my 4 months' old puppy tends to scratch excessively. her skin becomes reddened with a patch of slight inflammtion and another patch which starts to become bald. besides a possible blood test, I would also like to monitor her diet. she is presently on ANF and it lists corn but not as the number 1 ingredient. pls advice which brand (ScienceDiet,Abady,Purina ProPlan,ANF) contains least amt of corn. I have checked the Food/Bone/Allergy section b4 posting this question but was unable to determine the amt of corn used in each brand. At the moment, I am not sure if there is a corn-free product or one that is hypo-allergenic sold in my area and I do not live in the united states.

: Thanks in advance for your reply. your forum really helps.

Hi,
In the F&B FAQ there is a link to a dog food chart and you will find many brands that don't have corn in them. We don't recommend any specific brand of food on this site and it is up to you to find out what food works best for you and what is available in your area and since you didn't say where you are I really can't help you.

Please check with your Vet also and you many want to check into the Book recommeded on that FAQ about feeding a natural diet, since you seen not to be able to find something without corn. Please remember that over bathing can have this same effect and if you are bathing your dog more than once every two to three months, this may be causeing the problem.
Hope this helps you some.
Regards
Linda
