Need lots of information for competition & otherwi

I have lots of questions.

1. Our 8 month old male Jack Russell, Rascal, is badly intimidating our 1 year old male Beagle (who is much larger). We also have a "fixed" 5 year old female Schnauzer in the house. These battles of will are more and more often turning into vicious fights. Until recently, they were absolutely the best of friends. Is this a normal thing? Are they just now trying to determine who the boss of the house will be? And, if so, will it ever end?

2. Rascal barks excessively when outside. It is extremely annoying & I'm sure the neighbors do not appreciate it. Any simple solutions to this?

3. Rascal belongs to my 10 year old son who is very interested in racing him. We've seen the races on TV, but you can't really tell from that if he would be a serious competitor. All we know is that he ALWAYS has to be in front. Are there any races in Virginia? Or where are the closest ones?

4. How do we get started? I suppose he needs to be trained to compete. How do you do that? Or who could I contact to get that kind of information? Also, does he have to be registered with anyone as a purebred because we don't have any papers on him -- but he is pure.
