Question:

: I have a 4 month old male JRT who is all white. Lately, he's been itching alot. He has 2 raw spots by his back hip area. He scratches his ears and face alot along with laying on his back and rubbing on the floor. I took him to the vet and they gave me an antibiotic spray to use for a week and I put one of those plastic "lamp shade" collars on when I wasn't at home. He still has the raw spots and he still itches. Prednisone helps, but I don't like the thought of him taking it all the time. I've only bathed him once so I know it has nothing to do with that. Any suggestions or ideas??

Amy, Without seeing your dog it is hard to tell. I would suggest that you go back to your Vet and have him run allergy test on the dog or find a doggie dermatologist in your area or go to the nearest Vet school. I would also check the Food and Bone FAQ for more help with this, sometimes what you are feeding can cause the problems.
Sorry I can't be of more help but without seeing this dog it is very hard to tell.
Have a great day
Linda
