Question:

: Hi:

: First of all, I want to say how wonderful your site is. I just discovered it about 2 weeks ago when I was getting information to join and register my JRT,and I read it every chance I get.

: We have a one and a half year old spayed female who we adore. She's been a joy to have in our house, and fairly easy to train. She was very easy to housebreak and she learns very quickly. Our problem started about a month ago. She first refused to go in the backyard after dark to go potty (even with the outside lights on). I would stand outside with her for sometimes 20 minutes encouraging her to go, but she would either stand beside me and stare at me or run back to the door. When this first happened, I would take her to the front yard and she'd go. Now she refuses to go to the front yard in the dark also. It's only when it's dark. She'll go outside either front or back yard in the daylight without a problem. She's a fearless little girl, so this has me really stumped. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions? Thank you!

The best thing to do is always rule out medical reasons. Follow the link below an have her eyes check first. Only the other I can think of is maybe she was spooked by something out there, try to remember if you can I would also praise her alot when she does goes out an takes care of her business.
