Question:

: My fiancé and I are owned by a 1 yr old male JRT named Rascal. About 5 weeks ago we brought a new puppy into the house, a now 12-month-old Female JRT named Tasmin (Female Tasmanian Devil!). When we are home all is well but unfortunately we both work 8 hrs per day and cannot be home at all from 9am to 5pm Mon - Fri. This is where the fun starts. The two are becoming more and more destructive; so far they have chewed up several sections of brand new carpet, chewed our newly painted and textured walls and more recently, destroyed the bottom of a very expensive chair. My fiancé is going mad and has forced me to accept crating them for the entire 8 hrs we are at work. This seems unusually cruel to me but I cannot come up with an alternative. We constantly buy new and interesting toys (105 toys total now) and play/ exercise them constantly when were home. Confining their space just forces destruction in that room only. I love these little guys more than life itself but am at my wits end with the destructiveness, what do I do...

Boredum causes this type of distruction, and more exercise is needed!! If you aren't going to crate them during the day, you will have to put up with this. I agree with your fiancé, Crate your dogs during the day.
