Question:

: hello. i have a question for you about crating. i've heard that if you put your dog in their crate after they are "aggressive", either biting or whatever, that they will learn not to like their crates. our 10 month old male jrt enjoys going into his crate at night to sleep, but i dont think he would if every time he did something bad then he would be put in this place? can you suggest another alternative? we have also tried to give him a "time out" in the bathroom, but he constantly scratches on the door. also, how long is right for a "time out", 10 minutes? please help.
: he's going to clicker training right now, so hopefully this will help with this whole situation.

No the seem to know the difference in Time outs and the use of crates when giving time outs. I have done this method for years and have never had a problems with mine hating thier crates. Good luck with your Clicker Training.
