Question:

: I've read that green beans can be used as treats. just to be sure, are you referring to the pod/legume type? sorry for clarifying as I don't live in the US and the closest I can think of is french beans?

Yes, green beans come in a green pod with little yellow-ish beans inside. I am not sure what french beans are exactly, although I've heard green beans called string beans and snap beans before.
If you are feeding green beans that haven't been puree'd, you may see some of it pass in the stool. Dogs short digestive track and the nature of their systems do not break down the cellulose wall of veggies that easily. It's nothing to be alarmed about, but I wanted to warn you in case your dog has beans in his poo!
