Hi, Jerry,

I have the same experience with Looise. (She's being mentioned on here a LOT lately!) She hated being touched with brushes, stripping combs, and she will not even tolerate the site of scissors. I can't even use clippers on her.

I've been slowly building up with her. I take a really soft brustled brush and hide it in the couch when we watch TV. When she comes to lay next to me, a speak softly to her and pet her, then I start brushing her gently with the brush. She does fine with it. From here, I was going to build up to running the stripping comb through her hair gently until she gets used to it. I honestly have plenty of time, so if it takes a year... it's okay with me.

I've found that the whole problem with using grooming tools on a dog is that you just have to earn their trust and not force anything on them. Just always stay happy about using the tool, and keep smiling regardless of your dog's reaction. Patience is key!
