Question:

: What is the best type of collar for these dogs we have a 17 week old male JRT and he has a nylon collar and we are trying to get him to walk with his leash and he chokes himself all the time. WE are trying to get him to heal but he is so young and small this is our first small dog use to Pitbulls, Labs, etc that size dog

Hi Mark,
I don't think a JRT needs a collar any different than any other dog. My dogs wear nylon collars or leather, some with buckles, some with snap hooks. They've always done fine on any of these styles.
I think the problem you are having is one of age and inexperience. If he's pulling and choking, it's going to happen no matter what is around his neck. Your puppy will learn to walk on a leash, if you teach him properly. It's going to take time. I would start looking now for a basic puppy training class, so you can get in a group situation with a trainer to work on things like this. That's an effort you definitely won't regret!
Have fun with your baby!
