: We have a 10 month old JR and she always wants attention. When my husband gets home from work, she will drive him crazy until he picks her up and talks to her and pets her belly. After that, she goes about her own way and plays. WE were just wondering if this attention wanting is common in Jack Russels?

Hi Jenny,
Honestly, I don't know a dog on the earth that doesn't enthusiastically greet his humans when they come home or that doesn't want attention from them. Dogs are pack animals, and they deserve attention, they don't just crave it. This isn't a "JRT thing," it's a dog thing.
Also keep in mind that you are dealing with a very active breed that needs a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. One major part of meeting that need can be through giving her attention, playing with her, etc.
