| Question: : my 4 year old JR "Baby" was diagnosed with Glomerulonephritis (kidney failure) which is fatal. The Vet thinks it could be from lyme disease. Any information on this would be appreciated. My family and I are devastated. thanks ------------------ Response Area ------------------- I am so sorry to hear about Baby. I cannot be of too much help here as I don't know much about how Lyme's disease affects dogs. I do know this, I live in a Lyme's hot zone and I have my terriers inoculated every year for Lyme's. There is a vaccine for dogs that appears to be quite effective. Mine have been getting it for years now and have had no side effects. I don't even know if there is a blood test to see if this is the cause of your terrier's kidney failure, but if there is I would want that done. Here is a link to a site where you can ask questions of real vets. Veterinary Information Network Message Boards Sorry I can't be of more help. Good Luck to you and Baby, Marie |
