My JRT tries to vomit in the Morning!

My female JRT (spayed) is two years old. I have just recently been letting her sleep with me (she usually sleeps in her crate at night) which she seems to like. But every morning she jumps off the bed and wants to vomit (usually yellowish bial comes out-but very little). I talked to my vet about it and he said that she's probably so hungry that her stomach is upset. I feed her at about 8:30am and then at 3:30pm. She does get some snacks after her last meal. I realize that 17 hours is a long time before shes fed again. His suggestion was to give her a small meal (not much) before bedtime to tide her over. Have you had any experience with this problem? Should I change her feeding times? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
