| Question: : Our new 3 month old puppy seems to love people, the only problem is she flips out over strangers-more so with some than others. She loves everyone but tries to jump all over them. Sometimes she gets so excited that she shakes, cries, growls and barks all while wagging her tail.It seems she might start convulsing. While I don't want her to be unfriendly, I want to teach her how to act around people. Is this behaviour normal and is it a good sign for when she gets older? The only time she is aggresive is when she thinks you want to play -she loves toes. ------------------ Response Area ------------------- Your pup seems to be a perfectly normal puppy. This is what they do at this age. The whole world is a new and exciting, sometimes scary place. When she gets out of control then let her have a time out in her crate or a gated off area. She will soon learn that jumping and acting goofy in front of people will only cause her to be left out of the fun. This is also a very good time for you to start looking into a puppy class for her. Good Luck! |
