: I recently got a JRT Puppy as a companion to our 4 year old male JRT. We took her to the vet for her shots and a thorough checkup and he found nothing wrong. From day one I noticed an odd smell from her head area, that was three weeks ago. This weekend she started scratching her ears and whining so I took her to the vet first thing monday morning to find out she has Ear Mites. After giving her the medicine for it, the odd smell is no longer there. Should I notify the breeder of the problem? could it have been there this long?
: I am also treating my 4 year old male JRT as a precaution. The Puppy has been around a couple of the neighbors dogs recently and I am also wondering if they could spread to these other dogs by a very brief encounter, should I notify the neighbors of the possibility of ear mites in thier dogs?
