We have tried walking him before we leave to no avail. This can occur whether out for a few hours or simply running out to get the mail. I assume this is not medical and more behavioral...any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

Dear Adam,

It's not clear from your question which came first -- your terrier's surgery or his urinating at the door. If he started this behavior AFTER he was neutered then you should have him checked out by your vet. If he started this behavior BEFORE the surgery then he wasn't truly housebroken and you need to continue his training.
