Question:

: I have looked at your entire web site and I dare say that I have the most well behave JR on earth (or until this week). Her story is a bit sparce. My sister bought her for her mother-in-law (bad joke in hind-sight) from a breeder on the Cape who pushed her to an older JR because they are more calm. Needless to say, and after 4 homes, I now have her and will never let her go.
: We have had NO problems that lasted. We use strict obedience and lots of love and play to train her. She never displays naughty behavior more than three times, including running out the front door.
: She gets plenty of excersize, loves her little buddy (Westly, the Westie), leaves the cats alone (probably out of fear), has never shown ANY type of agressive behavior, and is only interested in love and her chew toys.
: My biggest fear is that she was abused (posible puppy farm type up-bringing), then bounced from home to home, and now is safe. With that safety comes her JR instincts.
: It has been two years that we have had her and she has finaly begun to act up. She has been pushing the envelope lately, but quite honestly... she is a smart dog, she's supposed to. This week she has decided to dig up the carpet and shred it. She was caught in progress and severely scolded by my roommate. Then, while I was in the shower the next day, she did it again and I caught her. I scolded her severely. A few minutes ago I caught her around the same area and she did not go near it, just sniffed it for a while: positive reiforcement.
: She gets plenty (if it is possible, too much) love, lots of excersize, and strict dicipline.
: Has she finaly become comfortable enough to show her true self? Or do you think this might be an isolated thing?
: Thank you,
: Chip

Hi Chip, Well you may think that this is off the wall, but I bet you have a mouse in your house and this is why she is doing this digging to get to her quarry.

It is either that or she is bored and needs exercise. Sorry but this is the only thing I can think of and mine have done this before only to find a mouse sooner or later.

Regards
Linda
