Hi Amanda,

We never recommend getting a dog as a gift to someone. Owning a dog is a very personal commitment and one that needs to be done by the future owner.

This is a very high maintenance breed and a big commitment to take on especially for a child. There are many adults that can't handle the commitment needed for this breed so there are many dogs in rescue.

Think of a different gift for your friend other than a dog.
