| Question: : Hi, : I have a JR who has just turned one year. I was wondering what is the amount of food and how often he should be fed? Would appreciate any recommendations. : Thanks & Regards, ------------------ Response Area ------------------- Tough question since there really is no standard for how much and when to feed a JR. How "much" depends upon your terrier's metabolism, how active he is and how many treats he gets throughout the day. "When" depends upon whether he is house-broken (once a day seems to help with the training) and if you are able to stick to a twice-a-day schedule. If you can feel your terrier's ribs (not see them!) then he is probably not over-weight and the amount of food you are feeding, along with his exercise, is okay for him. If you cannot feel his ribs, then you need to adjust his food intake and/or see that he gets more excercise. Good luck, |
