Hi Gigi,
To be quite honest I can't recommend this, and why upset the apple cart if you don't have too. Bringing another dog into the house especially when your male isn't neutered, you are just asking for unwated problems. We have a saying on this board, If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Yours isn't broke and so don't ask for unwanted problems.
