Hi Kylie,

Your terrier is marking territory. If he has not been neutered please make an appointment at the vet to have him done ASAP. You must catch this marking behavior early and neutering should lessen this behavior and sometimes if caught early enough eliminate it.

In the meantime you will have to keep him out of your bedrooms. If you catch him in the act it is important to give him a stern voice correction like "NO!" and then he should be made to get off the bed or couch. Don't keep yelling at him because number one, he doesn't have a clue what you are saying and all of your words are lost on him, the only good it does is to make YOU feel better. Dogs react better to short verbal corrections and commands.

Please get your dog in to be neutered. Make sure to treat the areas he has peed on with an enzymatic cleaner like Nature's Miracle and keep him out of your bedrooms until you can get him neutered and the areas treated.
