Question:

: Today my 9 wk old puppy (who sometimes sneaks the cat's food) has been vomiting periodically. She doesn't seem to be acting ill, but I also saw the cat vomit once. I checked the dates on the food and everything is in order...what could be the cause? Is this serious? Thanks!

Hi Tracy,

I agree with Leslie to get your puppy into the vet and I also must add that you really need to make sure that your puppy doesn't get into the cat food.

Cat food is formulated much differently than dog food. Cats have different nutritional requirements than dogs do so by letting your puppy eat the cat food it is not giving your puppy some of the nutrients she needs and also gives her too much of others.

Make sure the cat food is left somewhere the dog can't get to it.

Regards,
Marie
