Depressed Jack

Mattie is 3.5 years old and wonderful. She is prone to ear infections due to her ear canal structure. After diving into a nasty pond (b/4 I could catch her) during flyball class, she of course developed an ear infection. The vet gave me the drops for it and its looking so much better. My question is that she acts so depressed. I can't tell if she's just made about having the drops put in twice a day or if as the infection clears up, its painful or irritating to her. She's just not herself but her little ear looks so much better. Any ideas?
