Selecting a JRT Puppy

Question:

I am about to own my 1st JRT - going on Saturday to select our puppy (from a registered JRTCA Breeder). I have been doing a lot of reading on JRT's, however, for a family pet, any true suggestions to look for when making our selection? We do not have any young children (our only child is 16 yrs. old and this is his choice of breed, also) and we do not have any other pets. Any special personality traits or characteristics to look for?

Any words of wisdom are welcome.
