Question:

: my jack russell is four months old...he is veri assertive, he nips at us when we try to discipline him.when we put him in the kitchen, separated by a see-through barrier, he still bark and attempts to jump over.is this behaviour normal?

Hi Valerie,

Yes these are all normal things that a pup that age does. I don't know how you are discipling your pup but never use aggressive tactics because that will just make your dog aggressive. Always use gentle reprimands.

Now is a good time to start planning on enrolling him in obedience school and also to start thinking of neutering him. Early neutering him will lessen any aggressive tendencies and will more than likely keep him from marking.

Regards,
Marie
