Hi Julie,
In the first 12 months of a bitches life, they normally have only one heat cycle. The second year, they may have two but nothing is written in stone. Please talk to your Vet about the discharge and also about spaying your bitch to prevent further heat cycles. It is impossible for us to diagnose a medical problem without seeing your dog, and your Vet will be able to tell by seeing her.
