Question:

: I have two dogs and have trouble with them when people come to the door. I am trying to work with them to sit and stay when people walk in, but it is very difficult. I can't take them to the door together because they fight, so I am trying to practice with one at a time. I can get them to sit at the door when someone comes, but as soon as the door opens, they get up and go crazy. My female barks her head off and my male runs out the door, which is the worst problem. I have trouble getting him to come back to me. If I know someone is coming I'll have their choke collars and leashes on them. But if the doorbell rings unexpectedly, it's trouble. Do you have any suggestions? I have worked on training and they know how to obey, but if they don't want to they won't.
