Question:

: This isn't a question, just wanted to add to the response given to the question about giving a JRT Coke.

: Just think about it, Coke is FULL of caffeine, and if you think it won't affect your dog, take my word for it.

: Brutus is always trying to share my drinks...one evening he drank half a glass of iced tea on the coffee table while I was in the other room, and barked for 4 hours straight while I was trying to sleep - he was so wired, he didn't even know what was going on.

: So to avoid putting yourself through that, and your dog...PLEASE don't.

Hi Rebecca,
An excellent point, thank you! Another related thought, caffeine is one of the ingredients in chocolate that makes it so toxic to dogs. It intensifies effects of theobromine. While downing a glass of Mt Dew probably isn't going to kill your dog, it certainly isn't good. Additionally, sugars are hard for dogs to digest, and soft drinks are just chalk full of those.
My dogs loves to stick their noses in glasses, but there are many times when it's imparitive that they don't. (Plus it's embarrassing when they do it to strangers at the soccer or baseball field!)
