| Question: : I have had two JRT in my house. Two females since 1985 more or less. Since then, i have noticed how JRT have disappeared in my country. Now, it is very difficult to find a male, so that we can let our dear Lilita to be pregnant by him. In other words, JRT in my country are very few and we are desperated due to this lack of these wonderful dogs. Fortunetely, i work for an air company. So, i am thinking seriously of travelling abroad just to bring a couple of JRT. My Lilita is very old now (she is 13 years old) and we are afraid not to have her for a more long time. So, i plan to bring a couple, to adopt them in my house. Question, can i get them from the JRT Rescuers? First of all your Lilita is far too old to be bred. You would risk losing her and any puppies and I don't think you want that to happen. Besides that she is unique, you will never breed another one just like her. That is what makes our dogs so dear and special to us. If they were all the same we wouldn't think of them in the same way that we do. Just like snowflakes, are all different and so are our dogs. You might get one with the same markings but they would still be different personality-wise. As far as Rescue goes I don't believe that they would adopt out dogs to other countries and even if they did any dog in Rescue would be spayed and neutered before being adopted. The reason for this is to not end up having these dogs used for breeding purposes. Regards, |
