My JRT Has to Move - without me!

I received my Jack Russell Terrier almost two years ago for my birthday. Jax is almost two years old now. I do, however, live in an apartment and the landlord has reversed his policy on pets. Therefore, I must get rid of Jax sometime in the next week. Obviously, I am completely distraught b/c I will miss him terribly. But what gets to me the most is my worrying about him. He is going to go stay with a friend of my mom's until May. Then, I can have him back. He is extremely attached to me and becomes very scared in new situations. Will he make the transition ok? Should I go visit or steer away for a while? Is there anything I can do to make it easier for him? Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you!
