had enough

We have a 5 year old female JR. She is alone daily for about 9 hours because we both work. She has days where she leaves us no messes and others she does. We leave on the radio to talk programs to hopefully keep her company. We walk her at least one- two miles every other day to keep her exercised. It's a puzzlement because there can be days that we are gone longer than others and she leaves us no mess. We also are very careful to make sure that she has gone to the bathroom before we leave.
How can we totally stop these messes from occuring?
