| Question: : I have a 3 year old jrt who has a problem with one of his rear feet, he will begin by licking it constantly, then he will start to growl and nip at it then after a short while he will be barking and acting like he had dipped his foot in boiling water. He has been doing this for about a week now but to look at his foot there seems to be nothing wrong with it.
Have you looked between his toes, between his pads and at his nails to see if there is a cracked/split nail, a burr or something stuck where you can't see it? I'd consider allergies, but if it's just ONE foot he's chewing on, it's not really likely. If you can't find anything wrong with his foot, I'd recommend a trip to the vet if it continues. Good luck, Jane Colvin |
