: Can you recommend one or two "premium" puppy food brands? My 6 mo. old gets Purina Pro Plan Puppy Formula, but she seems to be generating a large amount of feces, and occasionally tries to eat it. I'm hoping these problems are just related to her diet. Also, are there any other home remedies besides unsweetened pineapple juice to prevent the feces eating?

Hi Meagan,

I feed a raw diet to my dogs, but some of the kibble brands I recommend are California Natural, Innova, Canidae, Eagle Pack Holistic, Pinnacle.. and there are several others. You can try an online search to find the websites for each of these foods. All of the above have made the top ten list of Whole Dog Journal. Not all dogs will do well on any one food, but the foods above are a place to start.

As far as eating feces, remember that no matter what you add to her food it won't stop her from eating waste from other dogs. You can try Adolph's "all natural" meat tenderizer sprinkled on her food also. Some people have good results with this or pineapple,and some don't. This may also stop once she's on a different diet.
