Question:

: We have an extremely lovable but energetic 1 1/2 year old female (spayed) JRT. When she's not on a walk, playing with someone in the family or on mischief patrol, she often sits in a chair with one of us watching TV. Every time an animal is on TV, she is attacking it. She will continue to bounce in front of the TV till we turn or the animal isn't in the picture any more. Doesn't seem to matter what kind of animal, dogs, tigers, snakes, or monkeys, you name it. Doesn't seem to matter if we just came back from a brisk 3 mile walk. If there's a critter on the tube she wants a piece of it.
: Is this attentiveness to the TV normal for JRT's? I've had and been around a lot of other dogs, and none of them seem to pay attention to the TV. How do we stop her?

Response:

We also have one that loves to watch animals, sports anything. It has taken allot of time and allot of no's to correct her behavior. We made her sit beside us and if she attempted to run up to the tv we corrected her with a No. Its a not a quick fix but with time and consistency it has paid off.
