: My JRT is very scittish around and afraid of dogs, especially small ones. She loves people and is a very happy dog, until another dog shows up. We got her when she was 5 weeks old and she is now 7 months old. Any idea what the problem might be?

Response:

Yes the problem is she was taken away from her mother and littermates way too soon and what you are seeing is lack of socialization. I would suggest that you find a trainer or facility in your area to help socialize her with other dogs, check with your vet to see if they recommend anyone.
