Question:

: Hello! thanx for all your time in this site everyone! I just love it! Well i took my j/r snickers to the home where my friend was babysitting but i held him outside. They had two boston terriers a male and female and the male got outside and was trying to nip at snickers.well snickers didnt like that to much and his fur stood straight up and tons of his skin started flaking off. I mean his whole body was covered in white flaked off skin. I was wondering if this was normal when a dog gets angry? (i did not let my dog down for one second!) and also snickers is ten months old and his nose is starting to turn a sortof pink color. I was wondering if anyone has ever had that happen or if it was normal or should we take him to the vet? sorry for so many questions! well thanx again for all ur help!

Hi Ashley,

I know dog's hair will stand up when challenged but I have never seen one with flakes coming off of them.

I would have to ask how often you bathe this dog. Too much bathing can cause flaky dry skin. So if you are bathing him a lot, you need to stop.

If that's not the case you should take him to the vet.

As far as his nose turning color, I understand that sometimes feeding out of a plastic bowl can start to change the nose color on a dog so if you are using plastic switch to a stainless steel bowl.

Some dogs noses actually do lighten in the winter and then darken again come summer.

Regards,
Marie
