Hi Phill,

I strongly suggest that you feed the dog in a crate or keep the baby out of the kitchen while the dog is eating. It's not safe for small children to be around any dog that's eating.

As far as your dogs fighting, without knowning exactly what's going on it's hard to give advice. I can suggest finding a trainer who will come to your home and evaluate the situation.
