| Question: : My Jack Russell is a 12.5 years old neutered male. He's a great guy called Riley. He has mild epilepsy which I treat. He has developed over the last few years trembling in the rear legs especially and mildly in the front legs. I have checked with the vet and he has advised that this is a characteristic of the Jack Russell and not to worry about it. I am just verifying that there isn't something I could do. This does not seem to affect him at all, he's still the same happy, energetic, dog. Thanks
Trembling is not a characteristic of the Jack Russell Terrier. A JRT will certainly vibrate with excitement or tremble with fear but not all the time. Trembling can also be sign of a medical condition. Given Riley's senior status and his epilepsy, I suggest you take him to another vet who won't so carelessly dismiss your concerns. Good luck, |
