Question:

: I have followed the directions listed on this website for potty training. We are still having accidents many times a day. We take Riley outside to potty (and he does), then he comes in the house and goes almost immediately after going outside. Please help!!! I dont know what else to try.

Response:

Hi Barb,

Housebreaking can be pretty stressful to say the least!

My suggestion is to get the book "How to Housebreak Your Dog in 7 Days" by Shirlee Kalstone. It's in paperback, is less than $8.00 and is filled with tips, insight and even potty schedules for all situations.

The caveat here is I don't think the author ever tried to housebreak a JRT so don't expect your dog to be totally housebroken in the 7 days she says. That being said I call it the "Bible" on how to properly housebreak your dog.

It can be ordered right on our site here and I will provide you the link to our book page.

Regards,
Marie
