over aggression toward other dogs

I bought a 3+ yr old pair of JRT from a friend. When I brought the pair home they both had an immediate dislike toward my other JRT. I figured it was that they were "testing them"/ establishing rank so to speak. Well, it has been over a month now. The female is calmed down alot,but still reluctant. The male on the other hand is still out for blood!? Why? How do I get him to stop before he kills one of the others. He's great with the female & great with people. She said she has never had trouble with him, I believe her, but HELP...............
