hot wire

Question:

in regards to hot wiring our fence....where would you suggest putting the top wire, we don't want to go all the way to the top b/c we are afraid she will jump over it once she gets that far. we were thinking about a foot from the top, but would like suggestions from someone that had installed a hot wire.
we are having a blast with our pup. she and her buddy, a 4 month old mix are best of friends and it seems like a match made in heaven!!!
