Question:

: I own a 6 year old male JR, like most male JR dogs he doesn't play well with any other male dogs. I do have a friend with a female JR, and she is the only dog that my male will play with. I am thinking about buying a female JR so my dog has someone to play with. Is this a good idea???
: Thank you for reading this, and hopefully replying.

Hi Sheryl,
When getting a second dog you should always get the opposite sex from what your dog is, so in this case you need to get a female.

Getting another dog for your dog to keep him company sometimes is not the best idea and not a reason that any of us recommend. You may have two dogs wanting to be with you all the time! If you decide to do this please consider a Rescue or an older dog for a companion.

I will link to you Russell Rescue, and some other FAQ's for your reading.

Good luck with your decision,
Warmest Regards
