: The back toe nails of our Jack Russell have begun to bleed. They have not been trimmed, but seem to wear down from running on brick in pool area, and from concrete drive and street. We noticed the drops of blood about 4 days ago. The dog is very happy and has lots of energy.
: Our grandchildren have been visiting and Rudy is a very playful dog, loving to go on the boat, and swim with them.

Dear Jean,

I suggest you take Rudy to the vet to have his nails/paws examined; a toenail that is bleeding is susceptible to infection. In the meantime, I recommend you decrease his activity...with apologies to your grandchildren and Rudy. :-)
