Worms Mites

Katie, our 8 week old, Jack Russell Terrier is scratching constantly. When we first got her 12 twelve days ago, the breeder said that he was deworming her and gave us worming medicine so we could continue her deworming once we got her home. When we got her home she was scratching constantly. We took her to the vet and the vet gave her a medicated bath and a dipping for mites. A few days later she still had worms so the vet gave us some worming medicine. This was about 4 days ago and I am still seeing worms in her stool, long slimy ones and she is again scratching. Does she need more worming medicine and another dipping? I hate to complain, but this is getting pretty expensive. Is there something we could purchase cheaper at a co-op or pet store that would get rid of the worms and the mites that we do ourselves? I'd appreciate your input. Anxious to hear from someone in the know about Jack Russell's. Thanks.
