Question:

: HI. i am in desperate need of help because my jrt is being aggresive to only two other dogs. he is fine with all other dogs but these and the owner of these dogs are warning to take us to court. he is neutered and very obidient. i take him to my shop everyday and he loves all my staff but when the two dogs come past he will run to the door and wait until someone comes in so he can run out and attack them. i am very worried he will attack them again because next time they will bring us to court and if he gets put down my kids would be heartbroken.
: thanks alot erich

Erich -

I've seen Jack Russell Terriers at a trial that will walk past 50 dogs with no problem and then turn on the 51st dog. At the next trial, when that same dog walks by, it happens again. Once a JR decides to "not like" another dog, it is difficult to do anything about it.

Breeders who have dogs that don't like each other and fight usually end up separately the dogs AT ALL TIMES. They can usually do this because they have kennel runs which provides for a more controlled environment.

It is very likely that he will continue this behavior unless restrained. You mention that he is obedient until he decides not to be. You might want to talk to a behavorist or take an obedience course to help train your terrier to listen and obey you.

Good luck
Rick
