Question:

: My JRT is a pup of 4 months.

: At night we crate her in our bedroom. The last time I take her out at night is 11:00 PM. My wife gets up at 5:15 for work and takes her out.

: We stop feeding her at 6 at night.

: Around 2-4 oclock at night she begins to whine and yammer to signal she needs to go out. She always eliminates both when taken out at night. I figured by this point she can hold it 7-8 hours. Should I have to take her out in the middle of the night this far in her aging?

Response:

Hi Jason,

At only 4 months of age, your terrier is not physically capable of "holding it." If she were able to, she wouldn't pee and poop when you take her outside in the wee hours of the morning.

Please be patient with your little one. As she grows, so will her bladder and her control.
